Multi-million-pound Estate recovered in Ireland

We previously worked on a case where a lady had passed away quite a while ago, where nobody was certain of her date of birth - only the year in which she was born.

We found three ladies born that year with the same name.  To find the correct identity, we had to work on the family tree of all three ladies so we could eliminate two of them.  Our claim was accepted and dealt with by a Probate Solicitor in Ireland, as the laws are different there.

We were able to successfully locate all the beneficiaries, mostly living in England, and received an update from the Solicitor to say that the lady had left almost £1million. This was great news for the beneficiaries who had only heard of the deceased but didn’t actually know her.

After a reasonably lengthy Administration, due to the tax laws of Ireland, and the extra work that was needed; we received a call from the Solicitor who explained that the deceased’s sister had died some months previously and therefore her estate would be added to the existing one in administration.  We were told that the value of that one £2million.
